We are down to the last few weeks before we move to Carnes. Now the fun really begins. Many things are going on at once, including: hanging speakers in sanctuary; metal framing going up in cafe'; lighting being installed in hallways (passageways) in sanctuary building; cabinetry being installed in workspace and Green Room; wood installed over front entrances; palms planted in back parking lot; and front parking lot and roads are being paved.

10/15/11
Made it over to the site after Men's Breakfast this morning. Many things to report on. Much more has happened then space or time will allow here. Just say, they are trying really hard to make a deadline. It shows. Here's the rundown of what I saw today: Work is progressing on installing the wood over the entrances to Kidstown/Pre-school and the Sanctuary. A clear roof has been installed over the patio area between the Sanctuary and Kidstown. The projector screen and ceiling lights are installed in the Kidstown auditorium. Framing is going up in the Cafe' and for the backdrop behind the welcome booth in the Sanctuary foyer. Framing to hold the acoustical ceiling is going up in the hallways of the Sanctuary. In the Sanctuary, the wood underlaying for the floor of the stage is in. The walls are starting to go up for the sound booth in the sanctuary. The drywall facing has been put in over the baptistery. And the huge stage is being erected in the Youth/Genesis building. Take a look!

10/08/11
First of all, as you may have heard, there was a small fire at the site last Sunday afternoon. According to the news report a fire started in a storage area, apparently caused by some temporary lighting. Did about $25K damage to the building and also $25K to materials in the room. Good thing we used metal framing for the walls instead of wood, huh? In progress this week, I noted lighting is being installed in the sanctuary and in the Kidstown auditorium. Glass is being installed in the front and back of the Sanctuary building. Wood framing for the front of the Kidstown building is being installed. The concrete floor has been stained and polished in the foyer of Kidstown. And sidewalks are going in. Busy, busy!
